Ashiegbu Gloria Nwakaego is an accomplished researcher, data analyst, and data science professional with expertise in Python programming, database management, and cybersecurity. Her current research focuses on agroforestry practices and climate variability adaptation, aligning with her broader interests in sustainable agriculture and rural development.
She serves as a Lecturer I at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria, where she is deeply committed to participatory agricultural research and gender-inclusive development. Gloria brings practical farming experience to her academic work, particularly in advancing natural, climate-resilient solutions and enterprise development.
Gloria is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural Extension Communication at Universiti Putra Malaysia, where she explores innovative approaches to agricultural knowledge dissemination and rural empowerment. She is a strong advocate for open science and gender inclusion, actively contributing to the Open Seeds Science mentoring and training programme, where she has explored the impact of open data on agricultural innovation and community development.
She has also participated in the ESL International Summer Course at IPB University, Indonesia, focusing on Sustainable Community Development and Natural Resource Management, with particular emphasis on reducing carbon footprints in the post-COVID-19 era.
Currently, she is a 2024 ASAPbio Fellow, further cementing her role in promoting transparency and accessibility in scientific communication.
With over 40 academic publications, Ashiegbu Gloria Nwakaego continues to make significant contributions to research, capacity building, and evidence-based policy in agriculture and climate change adaptation.
